And I have a little story about Apple Fall.
In my never-ending and DEEP idiocy, I mistakenly dropped a hairbase color chart texture on one of the doors in my Apple Fall RARE skybox. I kept refreshing the texture on the door, thinking there was some sort of glitch. I even logged out and back in. It was only until I went into the Edit window for the door that the texture of the door was eerily close to the hairbase color chart I'd just be consulting.
So it's my mistake, of course. I just KNEW neither Apple Fall nor his CSR would even respond to my pleading notecards. I was hoping they'd send the original texture for the door, a replacement door or a skybox. I apologized profusely but truly didn't expect any assistance (not because I think AF is mean but because he can't be responsible for my own mistake!)
I'd tried the CSR twice and got no response; I was super panicked. So then I tried AF and let me tell you guys, he was so very gracious. Not only did he replace my skybox but he did not treat me like an idiot, although CLEARLY I did something idiotic. I still can't figure out how the texture got onto the door. I must have dragged somehow.
I call this great customer service not because I got another skybox (though that was ideal since the one I had was now useless). I call it great customer service because, seriously, *I* broke it. This wasn't a case of, say, someone having a question about how to pick up all of the pieces of the house simultaneously. There's even a warning on the CSR's profile that customer service is not offered for those situations in which one mods an item or needs help with an item that was modified when purchased. Although it wasn't purposeful, I'd modded the item.
I think AF reacted in a completely human way. I was a customer, distressed at losing my beloved skybox. Above policy and principle, he did something he didn't have to do so that I wouldn't sob. I also think he just knew that I wouldn't drop a hairbase color chart onto a non-copyable RARE gacha item, since I'm SANE and all.
Isn't that great? Apple Fall is crazy popular, and I've found (in only some cases, obviously) the more popular a brand, the less accessible the brand owners! I was super delighted to see a counterexample of this.
I have tons of stories like these, such as with Tab Tatham and Evan Keel of junk. Or Sienia Trevellion of Lark. Or Blair and Sebastien of Remarkable Oblivion. Or Stasey Oller of Pink Acid.
Do you have any great SL customer service stories as well?
Anyway, here's my skybox!
